Early Print Lab

Principal Investigator: Joseph Loewenstein, Washington University in St. Louis.

EarlyPrint offers a range of tools for the computational exploration and analysis of English print culture before 1700. It includes a set of visualizations of the EEBO-TCP as a collection of publications, as well as a historical N-gram browser and a search tool for Key Words in Context. The project is a collaborative effort—centered doubly at Northwestern University and Washington University in St. Louis—to transform the early English print record, from 1473 to the early 1700s, into a linguistically annotated and deeply searchable text corpus.
