Each summer the HDW organizes a summer workshop which employs between twelve and sixteen graduate and undergraduate students who work on a range of faculty projects. Projects have included The Spenser Archive, Creating a Federal Government, and the Bizet Thematic Catalog. Students typically work 30 hours a week under the direction of a faculty member. In the past, students have worked on assignments as diverse as text markup, data review and cleanup, and the preparation of GIS datasets. In addition to acquiring the skills necessary to support their assigned projects, students develop an overview of digital humanities.
